Kundapur: Kota Srinivas Poojary Visits Shree Brahmalingeshwara Temple

Kundapur, Oct 27: Kota Srinivas Poojary, minister for ports and muzrai visited Shree Brahmalingeshwara Temple, Maranakatte, here, on Friday October 26. He inaugurated the temple website www.shreekshetramaranakatte.com.

Prior to the inauguration, minister and MLA of Byndoor Laxminarayan offered prayers to the deities.

Laxminarayan released books on the history of Maranakatte Temple.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Temple which is developing is visited by many devotees around the world. The Temple income is growing which will help in the development. He appreciated Shree C Seetharam Shetty Heriderry trustee and administrative executive of the temple for their services.

Speaking after inauguration of the website, Poojary said, “This is one of the famous places in the history of Karnataka. There are around 34,266 temples. The government has grouped the Temples into three classes based on the income of the temple: A, B, C class. If the temple income is more than Rs 25 lac it is classified as A class; if temple income is less than Rs 25 lac, more than Rs 5 lac it classified as B class; If the income is less than Rs 5 lac it is C class. There around 125 A class Temples, 189 B class Temples, remaining C class temples.”

As per the financial condition of the Temple, government releases fund of about Rs 12,000 per year, which will help the Temple priests to carry out the puja activities. This has helped many Temples around Karnataka, he added.

He said that he has planned to visit 28 Temples and Rs 1 cr will be released to each Temple.

C Seetharam Shetty Heriderry trustee and administrative executive felicitated the minister and MLA.

Indhira Sheety, Surendra Shetty president of grama panchayat, Pranay Kumar Shetty president of BJP Byndoor zone, were present on the dais.

Raghuram compered and Sarvothom Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.
