Mangalore, Oct 27: Veronica Judith Pinto, vice-principal and professor in Hindi, St Aloysius College completed her doctoral degree under ‘Dakshin Bharat Hindi Pracar Sabha’, Chennai, under the guidance of Dr Mukundu Prabhu recently.
She completed the Phd with the thesis titled "Kamal Kumar ke upanyaso me sambandho ki yatharthata".
Veronica Judith Pinto, wife of JB Pinto (AIR Force and SBI (retired), has also completed her Masters in Arts (political Science), MA (Hindi), MSc (Applied Psychology) and B Ed in Hindi.
In addition, she has got a vast experience of teaching at St Gerosa English primary school (1975-1991) and at St Aloysius College since 1991 onward.
As a student, she was the school champion in sports (SVS high school, Bantwal), highest scorer and best outgoing student in Capitanio (1973), received first rank in PUC (1975), second rank in BA (1980), best out-going student of St Aloysius Evening College, Mangalore, received the fourth rank in B Ed (1990).
She served as one of the three jury members (other two were renowned authors of Goa) at the 'Konkani Sahitya Academy Awards-2000'; she is a member of the Family Commission, Mangalore Diocese-2010 onwards; chairperson of Konkani text book writing by Government of Karnataka for class VIII.
She is also a regular resource person at the Family Life Service center Mangalore,for the 'marriage preparation course' and has addressed various groups.
She also writes columns in 'Sevak', a Konkani monthly on counselling, and for 'Raknno', 'Kannik' on various topics.
In addition, she has been counseling students, children, youth, married couples, senior citizens for more than 20 years.
