Belthangady, Oct 19: “Pursuing education and obtaining a degree does not complete one’s life. We need to have good health for a good living”, said Pushparaj Hegde, former international weight lifter and Kasargod Syndicate Bank manager.
He was inaugurating the 13th VTU two-day inter-college weight lifting, power lifting and body building competition held at Indiraprasta auditorium of Ujire SDM College on behalf of SDM engineering College.
“In the present days, the quantum of people participating in physical activities has decreased. Every individual should reserve atleast half an hour to exercise in a day. Sports can bring discipline in one’s life. Inspite of the stress in the present education system we have to appreciate the sportive sports in students”, he said.
Dr B Yashovarma, secretary of SDM institutions, in his presidential address said that if students learn time management then they can participate in sports as well and it will not affect their academics.
