Dubai, Oct 18: UAE Amchigele Samaj is all set to conduct 'Durga Pooja' during the auspicious day of Navaratri on October 19 at Karama Centre Auditorium, Dubai which begins at 4 pm.
Navratri is a festival dedicated to the worship of a Hindu deity Shakti. The word Navaratri literally means nine nights in Sanskrit, nava meaning nine and ratri meaning nights.
During these nine nights and ten days, nine forms of Shakti / Devi are worshiped. The tenth day is commonly referred to as Vijayadashami or "Dussehra."
Navratri is a very important and major festival in the state of Gujarat and Mumbai, where during all these days the traditional dance of Gujarat called 'Garba' is been performed by all.
It is believed that Goddess Durga will destroy all the evils around and fill everyone's life with happiness and prosperity.
The pooja will begin at 4pm with Chanting of Lalita Sahasranama and Vishnu Sahasranama from 4:30 pm to 5:15 pm, singing of Bhajans at 6:30 pm and will include various Sevas, Bhajans and Maha-Arathi followed by a vegetarian dinner Mahaprasada at 8.30pm.

4) Sarva Alankara Pooja
5) Annadana Seva
6) Sarva Pooja.
