Udupi, Oct 15: A man was killed and two others were injured in a bee attack at Admar here on Monday October 15 evening.

The deceased has been identified as Ligory D'Silva.

It is said that Ligory stayed back at home while his wife and daughter-in-law had been to Milagres Cathedral to attend the erection ceremony of Udupi diocese.

Ligory and two workers - Thippanna and Sudheer -  were engaged in the task of cleaning the house, when one of the workers accidently touched a beehive, stirring the bees to attack.

The workers who were injured sought help, but the neighbours refused to open their doors for fear of the bee attack. However, they passed on kerosene and a match box, but it was if little use.

The bee attack claimed Ligory's life. Thippanna and Sudheer were admitted to hospital.

Padubidri police registered a case.
