Lucknow, Oct 12 (DHNS): The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court on Thursday sought reply from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking probe into the allegations levelled against Congress chief Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra, by anti-corruption activists Arvind Kejriwal and Prashant Bhushan.
A division bench comprising Justice Umanath Singh and Justice V K Dixit directed the PMO to present a detailed reply within three weeks and posted the matter for further hearing on November 21.
The PIL had been filed by social activist Nutan Thakur. The petitioner has sought a direction from the court to the PMO to order a high level probe into the allegations against Vadra.
Earlier Thakur had sent a representation to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seeking a probe into the matter.
“Despite specific denials by DLF and Robert Vadra as regards the allegations levelled by Kejriwal and Bhushan, some of the basic questions remain completely unanswered,” she said in the representation.
