Mangalore, Oct 11: On the auspicious occasion of Navaratri, Fusion 5 in association with Western Institute of Technology will present Western Institute of Technology Dandiya Nite- 2012 on Saturday, October 27 at Bharath Mall. There will be live performance by 'Crockroaxz' Raghav of Dance India Dance fame, and the event will be the first of its kind in the city.
Raghav, 23-year-old is an Indian dancer and choreographer. He is known as the King of Slow Motion for his surreal dance moves in slow motion style. His stage name Crockroaxz best describes his style which is an amalgamation of being powerful like a crocodile and creepy like a cockroach. Raghav has become a youth icon with youngsters, who gleefully imitate his trademark moves and dance styles, popularly known as Crock-style.
He rose to fame as a finalist in Zee TV's dance reality shows like Dance India Dance (Season 3), and as skipper for the team Raghav Ke Rockstars in Dance India Dance Li'l Masters 2 and Dance Ke Superkids. His team was declared the winner in Dance Ke Superkids under his captaincy.
Dandiya Raas is the most popular dance of Gujarat. The dance is so popular that it is performed not only in the state, but throughout India. Infact, it is a special feature of the Navratri festival.
On 'Dandiya Nite', dandiya specialist DJ Jainish from Surat will be the DJ and there will be lots of prizes for the participant couples including Onida 22” LCD TV, Onida microowave oven, Onida touch panel DVD player and many more spot prizes to be won.
Over a thousand couples are expected participate in this show.
