Mangalore: Two Dead, Seven Critical as Vehicle Falls off Bridge

Mangalore, Sep 30: Two died on the spot and seven others were critically injured when the pickup they were travelling in met with an accident here on Sunday September 30 night.
The deceased have been identified as driver Harish and worker Ramesh.
The vehicle is said to be belonging to MRPL.
It is said that the workers had finished their work at a construction site at Angaragundi and were on their way to Haleangady. Altogether 11 persons were in the vehicle, and all of them said to be from Sirsi.
However, speaking to daijiworld, the owner of the vehicle said that as it was a Sunday, the labourers were not on duty, and that only the driver and another worker belonged to MRPL.
The accident occured when the driver of the pickup vehicle lost control and rammed into the Baikampady bridge. The vehicle rolled over and fell on to the railway tracks below.
Panambur police rushed to the spot.
