Mysore, Sep 30: In a shocking incident, an 18-year-old girl was found to be kept under house arrest for eight months by her father. Her 'crime' - she fell in love with a boy.
The incident was reported in Udaygiri police station limits.
Samira Begum (18), a resident of Satyanagar was chained by her father Apsar Pasha, a welder by profession.
Apsar Paasha had allegedly tied his daughter's legs with an iron chain and kept her in a small room. Pasha has five daughters and three sons, among whom Samira is the third child.
Being a girl, she was not lucky enough to go to school, and used to go to a nearby Madrasa.
Meanwhile, she started liking Mujeedin, son of the Madrasa Arabic teacher. Their relationship continued for long time and Apsar Paasha was against it.
Even after several warnings by Pasha, the affair continued, and for this reason Pasha held his daughter captive for about eight months.
Food and other necessities were provided to her in her room. She used to pass time sewing clothes.
Meanwhile, Mujeedin with the help of Samira’s brother sneeked in a phone to her. In this way, their interaction resumed.
As soon as Mujeedin came to know that she was held captive in a room, he contacted Udaygiri police station.
When the police entered the house, they found Samira tied in the small room and rescued her.
Police arrested Apsar Pasha and produced him in the court. He was later released on bail and Samira was sent home with her mother.
