Mangalore: Bishop Inaugurates DCCW Golden Jubilee Project 'Sahay'

Mangalore, Sep 29: Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza inaugurated 'Sahay', one of the golden jubilee projects undertaken by the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, at St Antony’s Ashram in Jeppu here on Saturday September 29.
On the occasion Sahay, DCCW introduced two facilities namely computer learning and counseling center for the needy, mainly women, at a nominal fee.
The inauguration programme was followed by a stage programme.
Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Fr Denis Moras Prabhu, vicar general, Fr Francis D’Souza, ecclesiastical director, Sr Mariette BS, provincial superior, Dr Mariella D’Souza, social psychologist, KMC, Lydia D’Cunha, DCCW president shared the dais.
In his presidential address, the Bishop appreciated the new venture undertaken by DCCW said that it was useful and unique.
"Introducing computer learning and a counseling center is an excellent and much-needed move," he added.
He also commended the work done by DCCW towards the betterment of the society since its inception in 1961.
"I am sure this will be a successful project which will help in building a healthy society," he said.
Fr Denis Prabhu, Fr Francis, Sr Mariette, Dr Mariella also spoke on the occasion and wished success to DCCW on their new venture.
On the occasion, Reni Pillai, vice-president gave a brief introduction on the new project. "Sahay will try to bring positive changes in the society. More facilities will be added in due course, as per the response and requirements," she said.
Lily Pereira briefed the gathering on the importance of computer learning and Prof Leena Fernandes on the need for counseling.
Lydia D’Cunha welcomed the gathering, Jane Sequeira compered and Terry Pais proposed the vote of thanks.
