Mangalore: President of Ganeshotsava Committee Found Murdered

Mangalore, Sep 25: In a suspected case of murder, a man was found dead at his residence at Gorigudda here on Tuesday September 25 evening.
The deceased has been identified as Ganesh Ram Suvarna, president of Pumpwell Sarvajanika Sri Ganeshotsava Samiti.
Though basically from Pumpwell, Suvarna and his family were staying in Karkala. He would visit Mangalore on every Ganesh Chaturthi to supervise and organize the celebrations. This time he was staying in a house in Gorigudda.
On Tuesday, some of his friends and acquaintances tried to reach him on phone, but got no response. They then called on him to check personally, but found the doors locked. When they forced open the doors and entered, they found Suvarna's body lying in a pool of blood.
Incidentally, the front door was locked with a key while the backdoor was locked from the inside. Also, drawers in his bedroom had been thrown open.
Pandeshwar police rushed to the spot.
