Bhatkal, Sep 16: For the second time in little more than three months, a dead baby snake was found in a juice pack here on Sunday September 16.
Incidentally, the snake was again found in the juice pack of the same brand as earlier - Maa.
The incident was reported from Bhatkal Jamia Islamia, where a 12-year-old student, identified as Abdul Mannan, purchased a tetra pack of Maa juice from the Jamia canteen.
When he had finished drinking half the juice, he found to his horror a dead baby snake emerge out of the hole. He immediately started vomiting.
A crowd gathered at the canteen. Circle inspector Hariyappa along with sub-inspector Naveen Jogi rushed to the spot.
Abdul was taken to Bhatkal government hospital, after which he was instructed to get admitted to Wenlock hospital in Mangalore for a complete check-up.
Speaking to Daijiworld, Jamia Islamia principal Maulana Abdul Bari Nadvi said that nearly 600 students are studying in Jamia and such a thing had never happened before.
A case has been registered in Bhatkal rural police station. Health inspectors are expected to arrive in Bhatkal on Monday September 17 to investigate.
It may be recalled that on June 6, two ladies in Bhatkal had purchased Maa tetra pack from a shop and had found a dead baby snake in it. The fact the incident has repeated in Bhatkal with the same brand of juice indicates that there might be a conspiracy involved, say sources.
