Udupi, Sep 14: The Health Department Outsourcing Employees Association staged a protest at Ajjarkad here on Wednesday, September 13.
Dharmapala, president of the association, said that the members of outsourcing (contract workers) and Grade ‘D’ staffs should be given preference in the vacancy list of health and family welfare department.
Day-to-day work allowance, travelling expenses and government holidays should be given. They should get benefits like other staffs including maternity leave. The basic salary should be increased as per the standards, and they should also be provided with the salary which was denied since last five months. Daily register and travelling register maintainance should be availed to the Grade D staffs. A memorandum stating the above will be forwarded to the DC.
