Mangalore: 'Sompa' Tulu Movie Premieres, Promises to Entertain

Mangalore, Sep 13: The much-awaited 'Sompa' Tulu movie premiered at Big Cinemas, Bharath Mall on Thursday September 13 at 6.45 pm.
The movie was traditional inaugurated by Amarnath Shetty, JD(S) Leader, Dr Richard Castelino, producer and director, Ramachandra Baikampady, KFDC chairman, Manohar Prasad, senior journalist, Harish Shetty, actor, Thamma Laxman, art director, Ajatha Shatru, male lead, Namratha Hegde, female lead and producer and Geetha Hegde, producer of the movie.
Speaking after the inauguration, Amarnath Shetty appreciated the love and dedication of Namratha Hegde and Geetha Hegde towards Tulu culture and language. He also urged everyone to inculcate an innate love for Tulu Nadu.
"More number of Tulu movies need to be released and more support by viewers is required if Tulu cinema has to progress," he said.
Dr Richard Cathelino lauded Namratha and said that she had a undertaken a big task in entering Tulu cinema and producing a movie, after being in Mumbai. He also appreciated her hard work and dedication towards this movie.
Manohar Prasad said this movie is the 44th Tulu movie to be made, excluding two tele-films. "Namratha could have settled with other professions and earned well, but she opted to embrace Tulu culture and traditional, and has now made this movie. He also thanked her for making the movie.
Harish Shetty and Ramachandra Baikampady also wished good luck to the film crew.
The first show of the movie was screened at 7 pm.
