Mangalore, Sep 7: The Bunts Sangh, Surathkal has bagged the first place in ‘Bunta Kalotsav’, a cultural competition organized at AB Shetty Hall in Bunts Hostel, recently.
The competition was jointly organized by Sri Siddivinayak Prathishtan and by Sarvajanika Sri Ganeshotsava Samithi.
As many as 6 teams participated in the cultural competition.
The Bunts Sangh, Surathkal performed a play on the topic ‘Medical Commercialization’ which was compered by Vaidyo Narayan Hari. The play depicted facilities in the hospital with dance and humor included in it.
The team consisted of 82 members starting from a six month old child and went on to an 85 year old man.
The dialogue of the play has been scripted by Madhu Shetty Surathkal, lyrics by Paramananda Salian, story and directed by Jagadish Shetty Kanchanekere.
The sangh was presented with a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 15000.
B Nagaraj Shetty, former minister, Ajith Kumar, president of Siddivinayaka trust, Kadri Navanith Shetty, president of Ganeshotsav Samithi, Dr Asha Jyothi Rai, convenor of Prathibaanvesha Samithi distributed the prizes.
MG Shetty, president of Bunt Sangh, Surathkal, M Devanand Shetty, former president, Pushparaj Shetty, cultural secretary, Sudhakar Punja Surathkal and Ullas Shetty Permude accepted the prize.
The second prize was bagged by Bunt Sangh, Jeppu and third place by Bunt Sangh, Kankanady. Bunt Sangh, Ullal received the prize for the best dialogue.
Bhaskar Nellitheertha, Harish Pejavar, Pramila Deepak were the judges of the competition.
