Panaji, Sept 4 (IBNS): A husband, who allegedly killed his wife in July, was arrested in Karnataka by the Goa Police on Monday. He was brought to Goa on Tuesday.
Twenty-eight year old Ravi Rathod is accused of stabbing wife Geeta (25) at their rented apartment at Mapusa in a fit of rage on July 25.
He was since then untraceable.
Police spokesperson told reporters that a police team was dispatched to Gulbarga district in Karnataka where Rathod’s whereabouts were traced through mobile tower location.
“Rathod was brought to Goa today morning. He is arrested on murder charges,” the spokesperson said.
Being a violent person, the police will possibly refer him to the psychiatrists at the government-run Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behaviour.
The police said Rathod will be interrogated to know the motive behind the killing. The preliminary inquiry has revealed that the couple, employed as daily wagers, had recently moved into the apartment.
