Mangalore, Sep 4: St Joseph Engineering College inaugurated their civil engineering course and first semester BE classes in the college auditorium on Monday September 3.
Dr R K Yaji, former principal, St Joseph Engineering College was the chief guest.
Dr Rio D’Souza, vice principal welcomed the dignitaries, parents and the first year BE students to the inaugural session.
First year BE, programme was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp. Dr R K Yaji inaugurated the civil engineering course.
Dr R K Yaji in his address, stressed on the qualities that need to be possessed by Josephites to develop enhanced qualities in life like discipline, punctuality, regularity, honesty and confidence. He asked the students to be strong, confident and competent.
Dr Joseph Gonsalvis explained to the students about courses at SJEC, results, placement, and about the facilities available for the students in the campus. Fr Joseph Lobo in his address stated that success comes from the word ‘CAN’. He also urged the students to work hard to achieve their dreams and mould themselves as professionals and to make their parents proud. He concluded by saying three words; I choose it, I want it and I want to focus to the goal I have set.
Fr Joseph Lobo, director, SJEC, Fr Ajith Menezes and Fr Rohith Dcosta, assistant directors, Dr Joseph Gonsalvis, principal, Dr Rio D’Souza, vice principal, professor Subramanya Udupa, coordinator were present on the dais.
Roshni Veigas was the MC. The inauguration session came to an end with vote of thanks proposed by Subramanya Udupa, coordinator of the programme.
