Mangalore: Taluk-level Inter-school Hockey Tournament Kicks Off

Mangalore, Aug 31: Former MCC commissioner J R Lobo on Friday August 31 inaugurated a taluk-level inter-school hockey tournament at Nehru Maidan here.

Mayor Gulzar Banu, corporator Suresh Babu, headmistress of St Mary's School Sr Maria Thara, Sr Florine Pinto, Shivaramayya and Raghunath were the guests.

The hockey tournament was organized by St Mary’s School, Falnir along with education department of Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat and zonal education office.

The tournament is being conducted for boys and girls of primary and high school section from various schools. As many as 11 teams will participate in the tournament in under-14 and under-17 categories.

Sr Maria Thara welcomed, Elizabeth N V compered and Kiran delivered the vote of thanks.

    For a kick start its ok but proper infrastructure is a must but before let the rains stop u cannot play on a wet ground like this. They could have it on a handball court or a cemented area but this ground is just not possible. Take care Sir

    Wat nonsense guys .pseudos. playing hockey in football ground.no proper infrastructure.just for conducting sport they are conducting it
