Byndoor, Aug 28: Nature’s beauty at its best. A thrilling experience, with a never meeting imagination of milky water waves and ever flowing water range- yes, it is the view of Koosalli Falls.
Koosalli Falls near Shiroor of Kundapur taluk is one of the tourist spots that is unique in its attraction, especially during the rainy season. One has to visit here and feel the beauty of this place, which is amidst the Western Ghats.
The greenery, nature’s mist and the rivulets make it a pleasant welcome before reaching the falls, which, in fact, is a boon to all nature lovers and tourists. Rainy season is the best time to view the actual beauty of this place. But it is quite dangerous to visit these falls, especially in the rainy season.
This falls is also known as the Abbi Falls. One has to travel 80 kilometres towards north from Udupi, eight kilometres eastwards from the Shiroor Thudalli road and four kilometres walk towards the forest ways, to reach the Koosalli Falls.
The roaring falls amidst the silent forest, the chirping of birds and the cry of animals that visit the place quite often is the usual scenario of this place.
As it is one of the well-known tourist attractions, it is also known as Mini Jog. As the flow of nature lovers and tourists are high every year, the locals heartily welcome them to this place.
The water from these falls serves thousands of acres of agricultural land and later joins the Arabian Sea through Sankada gundi. As the rainfall is high since the last two weeks, the impact of the falls is much better when compared to that of earlier days.
It is indeed a feast to the eyes and in fact, a central spot for picnics. It is, no doubt, becoming one of the biggest tourist spots, provided the departments concerned come forward in developing it as it is under the Forest Department Limits.
