Kundapur, Aug 20: Billawa Samaja Seva Sangha(R) Kundapur held its 21st annual scholarship distribution programme. They also felicitated Kota Srinivas Poojary at Narayan Guru Kalyan Mantap, here on Sunday August 19.
Suresh S Poojari, Honorable president of Billava Samaja Seva Sangha (R) Kundapur, was the chief guest for the occasion. Pramod Madvaraj, a businessman from Malpe, was another special guest.
Before attending the programme Kota Srinivas Poojary, minister of port and muzrai visited the Kundeshwar Temple, here. Appanna Hegde welcomed him with a garland. After seeking blessings he visited Sai Mandir Temple on Church road and Venkatramana temple, Kundapur.
Later he visited the Blue Water resort near Pancha Gangavalli River. Abhinandan Shetty, owner of the resort welcomed him with a garland. A programme related to the Pancha Gangavalli festival was conducted. Appana Hegde, president of Pancha Gangavalli appealed for the Pancha Gangavalli festival to be celebrated every year.
Speaking on the occasion Poojary said that political life is temporary and he will do the best for the society as well as work for the betterment of the people. He advised the students to take education as a challenge, which is when dreams will come true. He stated that he never thought of becoming a minister and is happy to be the muzrai and port minister.
N T Poojari, president of Billava Samaja Seva Sangha, Kundapur, Maani Gopal, vice president of Billava Samaja Seva Sangha, Kundapur, Mudoor Masthar, Narayana Billava, Gopal Poojari, Kalpana Bhaskar were present on the dais.
Scholarships were distributed to the PUC and graduate students.
On the occasion he remembered Halady Shrinivas Shetty and lauded his simplicity.
