A short stage programme was also organised. School principal Anitha Voilet welcomed the guest with a bouquet. In his inaugural speech Elias said, "Celebration of freedom has much more meaning today, as it means that we are the government of our country. Today our nation is ruled by us. We need to go back 60 years and analyse how we came out of British power and our progress over the years. India will emerge as the strongest nation in the world by the year 2020, as per A P J Abdul Kalam. Today's generation is facing issues like corruption and injustice. Punishment for wrongdoers is a must. Kalam says there are three people who form a child's character - father mother and the elementary school teacher."
Vijay Kumar Shetty who was also present said, "Please show affection to your family. On this independence day you need to spread the message of harmony, peace and unity. Take the nation to new heights."
