Bangalore, Aug 9: Karnataka has sought Rs 276.13 crore Central assistance for upgrading and strengthening of all the Government Medical Colleges in the State during the 11th five year plan.
Medical Education Minister S A Ramdas, who called on Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Gulam Nabi Azad in New Delhi on Thursday, said the Central grant would help in developing the medical colleges in the State.
The Minister, who was accompanied by Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute Director, Dr O S Siddappa, also invited the Union minister to participate in the inaugural function of PMSSY Super Speciality Hospital, Nursing College and Hostel Under BMCRI Up-gradation Project and Music Therapy Centre for Obstetrics, Food Court, Malnutrition Ward at Vani Vilas Hospital and Digital Radiography System at Victoria Hospital in Bangalore on August 18.
