Mangalore, Aug 5: 'Sunday Science School', a series of hands-on science activity programmes for school children, organized by the science forum of St Agnes College (Autonomous) in collaboration with the Centre for Advanced Learning, was inaugurated
at the College premised here on Sunday August 5.
Speaking on the occasion, St Agnes College principal Dr Sr Marie Prem D’Souza said that these programmes should be a platform for science students to innovate.
Encouraging the students to become scientists, she thanked the parents for joining the programme in good numbers.
Severine Rozario, coordinator of the programme said the activities will enable the participant to build his or her own science home laboratory. She also guided students to make a solar car. Nagaraj, electronic engineer, Shabitha and Joyce were part of the programme.
Dr Jayatha H, convener compered the session.
The science school is open for children in the age group 10 to 14 years.
The practical sessions will be held for 2 hours every Sunday for 25 weeks, wherein more than 50 science projects and experiments will be performed by the children.
