Nepal Cholera Toll Rises to 12


Kathmandu, Aug 4 (IANS): Cholera claimed two more lives in Doti district in far-western Nepal, taking the toll to 12 since the outbreak of the disease about a month-and-half ago.

According to the district public health Office, a nine-month-old child and a 70-year-old died of cholera Thursday night, reported Xinhua citing the Himalayan Times.

Cholera is sweeping across some villages in the district, putting more lives at risk.

Majority of those dying were children and elderly.
