Mangalore, Aug 3: The fishing communities in the city offered Samudra pooja organized by the Elu Patna Mogaveera Samyukta Sabha at Tannirbavi hear on Thursday August 2.
The prayers were offered by Raja Sandhyanath Swami of Kadri temple. The prayers offered were intended to please the sea god and to protect all fishermen in their operation. They also prayed for their abundant catch and other prayers were offered.
AJ Shetty, managing director of Kadri Manjunath temple, Ratnakar Puthran, Purushottam Jogi, Nithin Kumar, Karnataka State Fisheries department president, Madhava Salian, president of Elu Patna Mogaveera Samyukta Sabha, Diwakar kanchan, Pandurang Suvarna among others were present.
The representatives of Elu Patna Mogaveera Samyukta Sabha unit’s like Jeppu-Bolar, Hoige Bazaar, Kudroli, Bokkapatna, Bolur, Padu Hoige were part of the Samudra Pooja.
Earlier a procession was held on behalf of Babbarya temple in Bolur till Tannirbavi.
