Mangalore: ICYM Bejai Unit Organizes ‘Yuva Sambhram’

Mangalore, Jul 31: ICYM Bejai Unit along with YCS and Youth Welfare committee organized ‘Yuva Sambhram, a day of the youth and for the youth’, at Bejai church hall Sunday here on Sunday Jul 29.

Fr Ronald D’Souza, ICYM Diocese director was the chief guest. Fr Victor Machado, parish priest presided over the function.

The programme began with a prayer song followed by the inaugural programme. Dignitaries present on the dais inaugurated Yuva Sambhram by pouring water to a sapling.

Fr Victor in his inaugural address said that youth organizations are very important to inculcate leadership qualities and wished ICYM Bejai Unit for completing 65 years of establishment. He appreciated the organizers of the program for conducting an innovative program to reach the youth.

The forenoon session with group discussions was conducted by Fr Ronald and afternoon session included games like tug of war conducted by Neil. As many as 135 youth participated in the programme.

Joshny Fernandes compered the program. Densil Monteiro, ICYM president welcomed the gathering and Lavita Peres proposed the vote of thanks.

Fr Anil, assistant parish priest, Fr Richard D’Souza, Augustin Rodrigues, vice president of Bejai parish, Shalet Patrao, secretary, Lionel Pinto, Melwin Mascarenhas among many others were present.
