Udupi, Jul 31: The inauguration of Post Graduate Department of Studies and Research in Commerce (MCom) in Milagres College was held here at Milagres Silver Jubilee Hall on Monday July 30.

During the inaugural programme Fr Dr Eugene Lobo, former principal of St Aloysius College, Mangalore said, “Milagres College has a very good reputation and the college is on its way to a higher progressive stage. Education never ends. College is a place where students can achieve leadership.”

Fr Stany B Lobo, correspondent of Milagres Institutions presided over the occasion. Dr Nery Cornelio, principal of the college was the chief guest. Professor Peter D'Souza, HOD of commerce department, Dr Herald Monis, co-ordinator, Fr Canute Barboza, MSW department dean and co-ordinator and professor Hilda Rodrigues, former vice principal of the college were present on the dais.

Manjunath B introduced the guests. Dr Herald Monis briefly introduced the course. Fr Canute Barboza pointed out the positive aspects of the MSW course. He said that MSW will help to uplift positive attitude of the students and cater to the students with difference.

Dr Nery Cornelio asked the students to make best use of the infrastructure provided by the college management. Fr Stany Lobo blessed the occasion.

Professor Hilda Rodrigues welcomed the gathering and Lloyd D'Souza proposed the vote of thanks. Avita L Fernandes compered the programme.
