Mangalore, Jul 30: Pompei Youngsters Club (PYC) affiliated to Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) organized a unique programme ‘Gurpur Youth Café’ at the church hall on Sunday July 29.
Resource person Fr Alwyn D’Souza, former director, National ICYM, conducted a discussion on various contemporary and debatable topics.
The session was divided into ten groups who discussed topics like importance of youth getting into politics, the merits and demerits of social networking sites, church and the issues on inter caste marriage.
Chief guest Christopher D’Cunha, former PYC member, said that it is not mere money-making that completes the life of a person but happiness is also equally important. Stating one of the anecdotes, he touched the topic of personality development and asked the youngsters to develop a fine personality.
In addition, the members of the central council ICYM conducted games and other activities to entertain the gathering of youngsters.
Fr Paul Rego, director, PYC, and Fr Ronald D’Souza, director, central ICYM, also spoke.
Assis Moras, president, PYC, welcomed and Prem Rasquina, secretary of PYC, thanked the gathering. Prithesh Sequiera compered the event.
Vincent Moodbidri, Nelson Monis, Santhosh Lobo, Larson Correa, Praveen Lobo, Sunitha Sullia, and Jacintha Ashoknagar were present on the occasion.
