Mangalore, Jul 18: Condemning the Guwahati molestation incident wherein a big mob attacked a teenage girl recently, students of St Aloysius College staged a protest on campus on Wednesday July 18.
In order to prevent such unjust incidents of molestation and other atrocities against women, the students took out a protest spreading awareness of the crime. In addition, the students also presented a small skit narrating the Guwahati incident.
The students decided to have a post card campaign which, along with the appeal, will be sent to higher authorities at the centre, requesting provision of better security to all women and to intensify the case.
Incidents like these have happened from times immemorial and all such cases seem to have been forgotten, said the appeal hoping for a strong follow-up in tracing all the culprits.
The culprits behind this cruel act must not be let free, but must be considered as violators of human rights and the law and thus severely punished to warn the rest of the nation, stated the appeal.
