Mangalore, Jul 18: The residents of Jeppinamogeru on Wednesday July 18 sought the support of city police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh in dealing with the ‘goondagiri’ of two locals - Satish Kumar, Bhavani Shankar and his aides.
A group submitted an appeal to Seemanth Kumar Singh at his office on Wednesday. They also attached a copy of signatures by the locals.
The appeal alleged Satish Kumar's direct involvement in issues causing communal disharmony and fights. In addition, it stated that he was jailed for stealing the government telephone pole and selling it to the scrap shop.
It also alleged that he was involved in petty fights with the innocent people in the city and was caught breaking into one of the house's belonging to a woman.
The appeal also alleged Bhavani Shankar's role in the murder of Srinivas Bajal and Sullia Kurunji Venkataraman Gowda (KVJ) College manager. He along with his four aides would pass time sitting near the entrance of the temple in Jeppinamogeru and indulge in eve teasing, the appeal further stated.
Moreover, he reportedly threatened those who lodged complaint against him to the police.
Annoyed by these growing problems, the locals along with J Nagendra Kumar, corporator submitted an appeal to the police urging immediate action against the duo.
Speaking to daijiworld, Usha Shetty, a resident of Jeppinamogeru said that she and her neighbours were frustrated with Satish Kumar. The locals, in a fit of anger told the police commissioner that if the police do not take action, they will be forced to take law into their hands. They appealed the commissioner to give both Bhavani Shankar and Satish Kumar severe punishment so that they become incapable of troubling anyone again.
