Media Release
Mangalore, Jul 16: Former chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda will be accorded a ceremonial welcome during his return to the city on Wednesday July 18.
'DVS Abhimani Balaga', an association of his admirers from all walks of life, together with Jaago Mangalore Association will take out a massive procession from Padil Junction, the point of entry to the city at 11 am. From there the procession will make its way to Mangaladevi Temple, Bolar and then on to his residence near Colaco Hospital, Bendore.
This warm welcome is being extended to D V Sadananda Gowda in honour of his exceptional service to the state in providing a stable, clean, progressive, non-corrupt and non-controversial government during his tenure lasting 11 months. It is unfortunate that due to various political reasons, his tenure was forcibly and unfairly cut down, giving him no choice to complete his full term and seek the voter's mandate based on the merits of his performance as chief minister.
Dakshina Kannada being his home district, it is our duty to stand by him and express solidarity with him. Hence we urge all citizens to come with their vehicles and participate in this civic activity irrespective of caste, creed, religion or party background.
