Bantwal, Jul 15: "Public Works Department (PWD) has sanctioned Rs 31 crore for 24 projects which include development of roads, bridges and college building construction under the limits of Bantwal Vidhan Sabha Kshetra for the term of 2012-13," said MLA B Ramanath Rai, at a press meet on Saturday July 14.
Developmental works will be carried out under the Nabard scheme, Suvarna scheme, Special Division, State Highway Renovation, other road development, Venoor Maha Masthakabisheka Package and Budget. Out of 24 projects, 12 have been completed, six are under progress and the remaining six are under tender process, he said.
Development works on a bridge near Kalai on Nelligudde-Kalai-Kombelu road, a bridge near Odiyoor Masjid on Odiyoor-Mithanadka road, each worth Rs 45 lac, have been completed. 1.3 km of Mavinakatte-Kutlodi road and 1.3 km of Pacchinadka-Bambila road have been developed at a cost of Rs 50 lac. The construction work of bridge at Naganvalacchil on the Amtoor-Marnabail-Mullakatte road at a cost of Rs 1 crore is under progress. All of them have been carried out under the Nabard scheme.
Rs 78 lac has been sanctioned for 3 km of road widening and development of Byrikatte-Kanyana road at a cost of 1.4 crores, 4 km of road widening and development on Pacchinadka-Modankapu road, both under the Suvarna Scheme. Under special division’s Girijan sub-scheme, Rs 61 lac has been sanctioned for the development of Kandiga Boregudde road at Kadeshiwalya village, Dompadaplake Paravarkodi road at Pilimogaru village, concreting of Uli Kandiga road at Uli village, Daivasthala Kandrodi road at Maninalkur village, Hardottu road at Badagakajekar .
Renovation of selective parts of Kalladka-Mangilapadavu road at a cost of Rs 164 lac and Marnabail to Kolnad road development at cost of Rs 4 crore under the State Highway Renovation scheme has been sanctioned.
Tender process for the development of Rai-Pucchamogaru road at an estimated cost of Rs 2 crore and the Rai-Moorje road at an estimated cost of Rs 50 lac, under the Venoor Mahamastakabishekha special scheme has been completed. Under the 2011-12 budget allotment, development of Bantwal-Rai road at a cost of Rs 250 lac is under progress. Tender process for the development of Mulaar Patna road has been completed at a cost of Rs 1 crore. Permission has been granted for widening the Salethur Kadambu road and Canara college Benjanapadavu road, for which Rs 525 lac has been allotted.
Under the appendix-E scheme, tender has been called for the road development of Pacchinadka-Polali road at Rs 4.5 lac and Kanyana-Anekal road at Rs 4.6 lac. The tender process is under progress for Bantwal polytechnic building at an estimated cost of Rs 8 crore and the three class rooms for Government PU College at Beemuda Village at an estimated cost of Rs 22.67 lac, explained MLA Rai.
