No solution for AITA despite Krishna's appeal

New Delhi, June 20 (IBNS) India's External Affairs Minister S.M.Krishna's appeal to the players to solve their differences fell on deaf ears as the All India Tennis Association (AITA) on Wednesday was forced to postpone its decision on the pairing of the men's doubles for the London Games till Thursday.

Time is running out for the AITA as Thursday is the last date for submission of enrties to the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
The AITA after its marathon meeting that ended late Tuesday night had decided to send two teams - Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna; Leander Paes with either Vishu vardhan and Yuki Bhambri.

The AITA was supposed to announce the team Wednesday evening but they had to postpone it after But Paes reportedly threatened to pull out of the Games if he was asked to pair with a junior partner.

Paes stinging letter to the AITA came despite best efforts by Krishna, an honorary president of the AITA.

Krishna asked Bhupathi and Bopanna to solve their problems with Paes for the best interest of the country.

Krishna told the players that they should respect India's interest resolve their individual differences at the earliest. He also told the players that India's image should never compromise for personal issues.
