Pakistani Taliban Bans Polio Vaccination

Islamabad, Jun 17 (IANS): Taliban militants have banned a polio vaccination programme in Pakistan over US drone attacks.

The ban will adversely impact the already deteriorating health condition in North Waziristan, Xinhua reported.

"We announce a ban on polio vaccination campaign from today (Saturday)," the militant organisation said in an Urdu language pamphlet in Miranshah, the headquarters of North Waziristan. It said the drone strikes are worst than the polio virus.
