Mangalore: 18-year-old Stabbed to Death by Miscreants

Mangalore, Jun 16: In yet another case of murder, an 18-year-old youngster was stabbed to death near Akash Bhavan, Konchadi here on the night of Friday June 15 at around 11.30 pm.
He was rushed to hospital where he passed away on Saturday June 16 morning.
The deceased has been identified as Kumar, a resident of Akash Bhavan and a painter by profession. He was the son of the late Shridhar and Appi, who is an employee in the city corporation.
On the night of the murder, Kumar along with two others was on his way to a nearby shop, when four persons who came in a car reportedly waylaid him and stabbed him on the stomach. They fled the spot immediately.
The identity of the culprits or the motive behind the crime is not yet known, however, it is said that they are wanted in criminal cases, and the incident is said to be a result of a gang rivalry.
Speaking to Daijiworld, corporator Deepak said that Kumar was part of a gang led by one Pradeep, who had rivalry with another gang led by one Santosh. "On Friday night, Santosh's gang waylaid Kumar and his companions and demanded to know the whereabouts of Pradeep. An altercation ensued, leading to the murder of Kumar," he said.
Kavoor police who are investigating the case have already seized the car used by the culprits, but no arrests have been made so far.
