No Question of Mamata Meeting PM, Says Trinamool

New Delhi, Jun 13 (IANS): There was no question of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee meeting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Thursday, her party said emphatically.

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) also said that no meeting has been fixed.

Replying to a question on Banerjee meeting Manmohan Singh, Railway Minister and Trinamool leader Mukul Roy told Times Now: "The question does not arise."

He said the party president would be in the capital but so far no meeting has been scheduled with any leader.

Banerjee was to meet Manmohan Singh Wednesday, after the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) called her for a meeting.

Banerjee and Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav Wednesday named Manmohan Singh as one of their three preferred persons for president, thus rejecting the Congress's choice of Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Vice President Hamid Ansari.
