Mangalore: District Drenched in Heavy Monsoon Showers

Mangalore, Jun 13: Heavy rains lashed the district on Tuesday June 12, causing disruption in electricity and traffic snarls.
The district recorded an average of 29.4 mm rainfall. Bantwal recorded 55 mm of rainfall and the surrounding areas of Belthangady 38.2 mm.
Until late night there was continuous rain accompanied by strong winds. Mangalore witnessed 23.6 mm of rain. A tree was uprooted at Kadri Park damaging a car and an auto rickshaw.
Consequently, the drains overflowed and KS Rao Road, Hampankatta and other roads were inundated leading to traffic jams. Area around Jeppu railway crossing too was flooded.
Places like Moodbidri and Kinnigoli received heavy rains late in the afternoon.
