Karwar: Police Bust Rave Party, Arrest 12 Including 8 from Mangalore

Karwar, Jun 10: Police raided a resort in Honnebail, near Ankola, on Saturday June 9 at around midnight and arrested eight young men and four women who were allegedly partying half-naked.
Of them, eight are said to be from Mangalore, hailing from city limits and from Gurpur-Kaikamba.
The police arrested the men and women who were allegedly engaged in obscene dancing and seized cash amounting over Rs 1 lac, 10 mobiles, and 3 cars in the raid. However, no narcotic substances were found.
The police arrested Raja Kumar Shetty (42), Sandeep Balakrishna Shetty (35), Sachin Balakrishna Shetty (31), Areef Inayatullah (38), Yashwant Poojary (38), Harish Shetty (42) Madhu Venkappa Shetty (37) and Vinod Bhagwandas Mada (45), all from Mangalore.
The four women are Sudha Raju Kolavi (23) of Bagalkot, Deepa Arun Hiremath (34) of Hubli, and Nepal nationals Sushma Tejanarayan Subba (21) and Roji Lal Bahaddur Hamala (24), both hailing from Katmandu.
The locals who were present during the raid managed to escape.
They were booked under IPC Section 294, which pertains to causing annoyance to others and obscene act in public places.
The resort, Honey Beach Resort is located 10 km from Ankola where late night parties are being held illegally, informed police sources.
The police sources informed that when they raided the premises, four women were dancing while the youngsters were high on alcohol and dropping currency notes around them.
The raid was carried out under the direction of SP Balakrishna, led by DySP Ullas Varnekar and carried out by sub-inspector Joy Anthony and over 50 policemen.
The police acted on a tip-off, sources said.
