Mangalore, Jun 7: Monsoon has just began and already the rains are taking a toll on the citizens and public property.
On Thursday June 7 at around 6.45 am, an old tree, perhaps around 80 years old, fell near Jeppu railway crossing
A residential building is under construction, and it is said that the ground-levelling work led to soil erosion, thus causing the tree to uproot.
No loss of life or injury was reported in the incident.
In another incident at the nearby Mahankali Padapu, Kopparige, a house was inundated after heavy rains lashed the city during the night.
