Vulgarity in Internet Videos Worries China

Beijing, May 8 (IANS): Violence and pornography have become common in internet videos in China.

Certain video-sharing web sites have used violence and pornography as a gimmick to promote their self-produced programmes, People's Daily reported Tuesday.

Certain web portals' news videos lack objective reporting of major affairs, and mainly focus on the trivial details of the lives of ordinary people and stars as well as vulgar stories, it said.

China needs to enhance regulation of its internet video sector, it added.
