Mangalore, May 2: The Sacerdotal silver jubilee of Fr Roque D’Sa was organized on the premises of Mount Carmel Church, Shirthady, on Tuesday May 1.
Fr Roque D’Sa was born on 11 September, 1960. He served as parish priest at various parishes and was the editor of ‘Ange’ and director of vocation and seminarians at Bajjody. He completed his higher studies in Psychology from Gregorian University, Rome. Fr D’Sa too was the professor and councilor at St Joseph’s Seminay at the request of the Bishop. He served as parish priest and dean of Bantwal deanery, and correspondent of schools at the higher and primary level.
On this special occasion, a thanksgiving Eucharistic Mass was held to commemorate this day. Fr. D’Sa was the main celebrant of the mass. The homily was preached by Fr Clifford D’Souza of St Joseph Seminary.
Some of the other celebrants are Fr. Henry Sequeira, Chancellor, Fr Dennis D’Sa, Fr Prakash D’Souza, Fr Peter Noronha, Fr Stany Govias, Fr Leo Lobo, Fr Dennis Suvaries, Fr Udaya Fernades, and Fr Pius D’Sa. Fr Elias D’Souza, the parish priest, was among the other celebrants.
Nathalia D’Sa, mother of Fr D’Sa, who celebrated her 75th birthday, shared the dais during the felicitation programme. Robert and Lucy D’Sa, the brother and sister-in law of Fr D’Sa too were part of the programme as they had their silver wedding jubilee.
Fr Udaya Fernandes raised the toast.
