Mangalore, Apr 26: An order has been passed by the High Court of Karnataka to draw 2 MGD water from Netravathi river on Wednesday April 25. District commissioner of Mangalore district has agreed to supply water at the rate of 5 MGD with immediate effect as the Thumbe dam on Nethravathi river is overflowing to sea. Formal consent from DC office is awaited.
Refinery has already commissioned CCR 1 and CDU 2. Commissioning of Hydrogren generation unit, Hydrocracker unit 1, gas oil hydrodesulphurization unit (GOHDS) and CCR2 commissioning has been started and expected to be on stream by Saturday April 28.
Commissioning of Phase 3 expansion units will be kept on hold till the increase in water supply at 8.5 MGD is sanctioned by the state government. The planned shutdown of Hydrocracker 2 for 45 days and other associated units will continue and shall be completed by May end.
