Mangalore, Apr 23: St Christopher’s Association (R), a 45 year old organization of motor vehicle owners and drivers, started a medical fund for the benefit of its poor and needy members. The said medical fund was inaugurated by Fr Francis D’Souza, administrator, St Antony’s Institutions, Mangalore, at the Don Bosco Hall, here on Sunday April 22.
The convener, Gerard Towers welcomed the gathering. Three members of the association who made the highest collection to the fund, were honoured on the occasion.
Fr Francis, in his speech, lauded the useful work done by the association towards the welfare of its members. He wished the organization and its members every success. The vice president, Francis D’Souza, secretary, Victor J Menezes among other members were present on the occasion.
A Konkani film 'Kon To Amchya Modlo' by Kinglsy Nazareth, was exhibited on this occasion.
Many philanthraphists from far and near including members of the association have generously contributed to the fund.
The secretary, Victor J Menezes proposed a vote of thanks. Raymond D'Cunha an EC member of the association compered the programme.
