Mangalore: Cow Dung Smeared on Lecturer's Face, Sangh Parivar Hand Alleged

Mangalore, Apr 21: In a bizarre incident that took place on Saturday April 21 near Pumpwell, an unidentified person smeared cow dung on the face of Pattabhirama Somayaji, a lecturer in Mangalore University College.
Somayaji, the chief of flying squad, along with Harini, lecturer in Vivekananda college Puttur, Ganesh Prasad, lecturer in Vivekananda college Puttur, Yathish Shetty, lecturer in Sarosh college and Rathnakar, lecturer in Government college Sullia had entered Hotel Padmashree near Pumpwell at around 1 pm. After having lunch they came out and were standing near their car.
At that moment, a person appeared on a bike brought cow dung in a plastic cover and threw it on Somayaji’s face.
Police from Kankanady rural police station then came to the spot. Somayaji with others went to the police station to reveal the matter to the police.
Meanwhile speaking to the media, Somayaji alleged that the act may have been carried out by activists of Sangha Parivar. Somayaji is known for his speeches against Sangha Parivar, and after the infamous pub attack, he had termed the Rama Sene as 'Ravana Sene' which had led to protests in the city.
