Mangalore: 'Koti Namarchane' Inaugurated at Shree Gopalkrishna Temple

Mangalore, Apr 19: The inaugural ceremony of the 'Koti Namarchane'at Shree Gopalkrishna Temple was held at the temple premises here on Thursday April 19 at 6 pm, as part of the fifth annual festival of the temple.
Srimadjagadguru Sri Sri Ragaveshwara Maha Swamiji of Sri Ramachandrapura Mutt, Hosanagar inaugurated the programme traditionally by lighting the lamp during a formal stage programme organized at the temple auditorium.
Prof M B Puranik, working president of Koti Namarchana Samiti, delivered the introductory remarks. Dr N Vinay Hegde, chancellor of Nitte Education Trust welcomed the gathering.
Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat presided over the function. K C Naik, Krishna J Palemar, MLA, M N Rajendrakumar, president of SCDCC Bank, Dr K V Devadiga, Suguna C Naik, Sanjith Naik and Raman were present.
Dr A V Shetty proposed the vote of thanks. A large number of devotees were present.
The 10-day programme will begin from Friday April 20 and end on April 29. Each day 10 lac basil leaves will be offered to the deity Shree Gopalakrishna.
