Bangalore, Apr 18: Taking into account the delay involved in completing valuation work of PU answer papers because of the strike undertaken by valuators for four days, Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has postponed Common Entrance Test (CET).
The CET, which was scheduled to be held on May 3 and 4 earlier, stands postponed to May 21 and 22.
Executive director of KEA, Rashmi V Mahesh, had urged the government through a letter, to postpone CET, as the PU answer sheets valuation work would not be completed by then, and also because of the fact that holding of CET will be impossible as the lecturers and principals, who are expected to function as examination staff, will not be available to hold the examination as they will be busy with paper valuation. The Chief Minister, on the recommendation of the principal secretary of the department of higher education, gave his nod to the postponement on Tuesday.
