Mangalore: Gang with Woman, Child Slip Away with Gold Worth Rs 62,000

Mangalore, Apr 14: A theft of gold worth Rs 62,000 has been reported from a jewellery store near Central Market here on Saturday April 14.
A lady along with four men is said to have entered Roshni Jewellers at around 12.15 pm and asked the salesgirl to show an anklet. When the salesgirl went away to get the piece, one of the men is said to have snatched a tray full of rings and slipped them into the child's clothes. They managed to escape without catching anyone's attention, and without purchasing anything.
Only after the gang left did the owner of the shop Rajeshan Kurdekar and the salesgirl realize that the rings were missing. The theft and identities of the thieves have been confirmed through CCTV footage.
The gang slipped away with 52 rings of total 25 grams, worth Rs 62,000.
Bunder police have registered a case.
