Mumbai, Apr 13: “Drama is an art while life is a drama by itself. The actor enacts the role of another in the play. The Sage Bharat has set the rules for all acts in the drama,”said metro’s veteran Kannada litterateur Manjunatayya.
He was speaking at the farewell function of Mumbai University’s outgoing MA students, recently.
“The drama will not be successful if there are no enthusiastic audiences at the venue. Records are available to prove that dramas were staged in India for over the past four to five centuries,” added Manjunatayya.
Mumbai University head of department of Kannada Dr G N Upadhya said that the farewell to outgoing students is just a formality. “The Kannada department welcomes all those interested in literature, owing to which the student strength is increasing over the years,” he added.
Kannada Professor Dr G B Kulkarni expressed happiness over the study of outgoing students.
Student Shailaja welcomed the gathering. Vidhushi Shyamala rendered the prayers. Rama Udupa compered the programme and Suganda Satyamurti proposed the vote of thanks.
