Mangalore, Apr 7: In an incident that occurred at PVS junction here on Saturday April 7, the driver of a private service bus hit a traffic police booth located at the junction, toppling it on to the road.
The incident took place on Saturday April 7 morning when the driver tried to overtake at the junction. The bus was plying from the city to Kateel.
The booth was immediately placed back with stones supporting the structure, and traffic returned to normalcy by 11 am.
A case has been registered against bus driver Prakash for rash and negligence driving. A fine of Rs 1000 was imposed on him.
Police sources said that the booth was not fixed into the ground, and was merely kept. When the bus brushed against the booth it collapsed.
