Mangalore: Bajrang Dal Blames District Administration, Police for Cattle Trafficking

Mangalore, Apr 7: At a joint press meet of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Bajrang Dal at their office here on Saturday April 7, Krishnamurthy, divisional secretary, VHP held the district administration and the police commissioner responsible for any violent public reaction in future with regard to cattle trafficking incidents.
He said the incident of cattle trafficking and the consequence reported on Saturday morning proves that the district administration and the police department is inactive and unable to curb illegal transportation of cattle.
"Every time Bajrang Dal activists are forced to trace the illegal trafficking of cattle. The police commissioner claims that police department is not getting information on time to trace such activities. The incident has seriously hurt the sentiments of those who see divinity in cow," he said.
He added further, "Saturday’s incident is inhuman. The population of cows is decreasing at an alarming rate, and if it continues, the city might face shortage of milk in the future."
Sharan Pumpwell, divisional convener of Bajrang Dal Mangalore Division urged that police squads be formed by the police department to combat cattle trafficking in city.
Harish Amtady, Pradeep Pumpwell, Puneeth among others were present at the press meet.
